The theme of our competition is Chinese classical dance. Due to different perceptions on Chinese classical dance, the organizing committee of NTDTV’s Chinese Classical Dance Competition would like to make the following clarifications:

1. The judging criteria will focus on authentic Chinese classical dance movements in both Required Movements and Individual Choice parts of the competition.

2. Please pay special attention to the bearing and forms which are characteristic of classical Chinese dance.

3. Chinese classical dance is distinct from ballet or modern dance. It is also different from the techniques and movements in Chinese opera, or set movements in martial arts.

4. Although modern dance contains movements and techniques from Chinese classical dance, it does not contain the traditional aesthetics of Chinese classical dance.

5. Please do not depict animals or other lower life forms during the Individual Choice performance. Through this competition, we hope all contestants will elevate their dance technique and performing skills. Therefore, let us work together to present the authentic beauty of Chinese classical dance to the world.
