Mission
The "International Chinese Classical Dance Competition" is one in a series of international cultural and arts events sponsored by New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV). It will launch a new era in Chinese classical dance by fostering cultural exchange, making this ancient Chinese culture renown throughout the world and promoting purely authentic traditional dance that is pure goodness, and pure beauty.
Organizer
The Competition will be hosted by New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV). NTDTV satellite television and the NTDTV website will broadcast the Competition proceedings around the globe.
Panel of Judges
The Panel of Judges will be composed of experienced dance experts, including those involved in design and performance in NTDTV's Chinese New Year Spectacular, and troupe leaders and choreographers of the three Divine Beauty Performing Arts Groups. The panel will be given complete authority to engage in the evaluations of the Competition.
Content of the Competition
- Includes solo, duet, or trio dances.
- The dance routine in the Competition will be less than two minutes long.
- During the Preliminary Competition, the individual routine counts for 70% of the total score.
- For the Semi-Finals, the dance routine will include one minute of a required set of movements (leaps, turns, flip, and control, plus tumbling techniques of "blanket fundamentals").
- For the Finals, the dancers will perform one minute of a required set of movements and one minute of an individual choice set.
- For the Semi-Finals and Finals, a different routine may be selected.

Qualifications to Enter the Competition
- All dance teachers and dancers from professional arts academies and dance troupes and dance instructors, dancers, and dance students from professional dance schools between the ages of 14 – 40 may register and participate.
- The range of age for each division of the Competition is as follows: Junior Division, age 14 - 17; Adult Division, age 18 – 40.
- To qualify for the Competition: After the Panel of Judges has reviewed all of the materials from the applicants, a formal "NTDTV International Chinese Classical Dance Competition Invitation" will be sent to those who meet the criteria. The contestants may use this invitation to apply for visas and report to the competition.

Attention: Organization Committee of "NTDTV Second International Chinese Classical Dance Competition" - Application package:
1) The applicant should fill out and submit the International Chinese Classical Dance Competition Registration Form as well as the Resume Form; both of which can be downloaded from the Competition's Website. All those under the age of 18 must have a legal guardian sign the Registration Form.
2) Each applicant must provide two 1 inch x1 inch color photos (digital photos preferred) and a copy of their valid ID.
3) Contestants may choose to send in a DVD (VCD) or a regular 1/2" VHS tape, preferably in NTSC format. The videotape, VCD and DVD must not be enhanced or edited. The DVD or video should have the contestants' division, name of the dance routine, and the contestant's name clearly marked on the cover. In addition, no subtitles or logos that reveal any information about the entrant may appear within the audio or image or else it will be considered an act of forfeiture.
4) The above application materials should be sent to the Competition's Organization Committee by registered mail. All application materials shall not be returned. - Registration Fee: Junior Division: US$20, Adult Division: US$50. We take cash, traveler's checks, or money orders. Please make your check payable to New Tang Dynasty Television.

Competition Dates
- Preliminaries in Taiwan will be held July 12th through 13th, 2008.
- Competitions in USA will be held August 22nd through 24th, 2008 according to the following schedule:
- Thursday, August 21st: Contestant Rehearsal, Registration & Orientation
- Friday, August 22nd: Preliminaries
- Saturday, August 23rd: Semi-finals
- Sunday, August 24th: Finals, Divine Performing Arts show & Award Ceremony
Evaluation and Scoring
The final rankings (scores of contestants) will be announced after each round of competition.
Placement Awards
Gold Award is $10,000, Silver Award is $3,000, Bronze Award is $1,000.
- Adult Division (Male): 1 Gold, 1 Silver, 2 Bronze, 3 Honorable Mention.
- Adult Division (Female): 1 Gold, 1 Silver, 2 Bronze, 3 Honorable Mention.
- Junior Division (Male): 1 Gold, 1 Silver, 2 Bronze, 3 Honorable Mention.
- Junior Division (Female): 1 Gold, 1 Silver, 2 Bronze, 3 Honorable Mention.
Accommodation and Transportation
- The Competition's Organization Committee will recommend hotels in New York City for contestants and those accompanying them.
- Contestants and their entourage shall pay for their own accommodation and transportation.
Miscellaneous
- Since the Communist Party is outlawed in the United States, all songs and music that eulogize the Communist Party will be prohibited during this competition. Contestants would be well advised to send their dance music to the Panel of Judges for assessment in order to avoid unnecessary problems.
- Chinese and Western classical music pieces may be selected as dance music. In addition, a portfolio of pre-selected music and songs are provided on the official website of this competition as an alternative option for contestants.
- Contestants will take full responsibility to any copyright issues related to the dance music they choose for the competition.
- All contestants shall comply with all the arrangements of the Competition's Organization Committee. The committee has the right to revoke violators' eligibility and the prizes awarded.
- The decisions of the Judges' Committee shall be final, and no appeals shall be taken.
- During the competition, all audiovisual copyrights shall belong to NTDTV.
- After the on-site Awards ceremony for the Finals, any international performance companies wishing to sign a contract with a contestant, the contestant must notify the Committee of Judges.
- Contestants will be responsible for any accident or injury that occurs in the course of competition.
- The Competition's Organization Committee shall have the ultimate authority to interpret the Rules and Regulations for the Competition and have the right to make any changes to them as necessary.
